The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has asked the public for information that will lead to the arrest of the lady who claimed she was paid N1.1 million to sleep with a dog in a viral TikTok video.
The police spokesman said the lady was needed for questioning regardless of the fact that she might have been joking as she later claimed in subsequent videos.
The TikTok user with the handle @Veegodess jumped on the hysteria created by a fabricated story by a Twitter user that a Lagos-based lady was paid N1.5 million to sleep with a German Shepherd. The Twitter user released video evidence to buttress his claims.
An investigation by Microsecondnews later revealed that the video he released was actually downloaded from a pornsite. The video has been online for more than two years and was not recorded in Nigeria.
However, seeing the wide attention and interest the story generated, Veegodess uploaded a video claiming she slept with a dog and got paid N1.1 million.
“What is the big deal there? I only slept with a dog, I didn’t kill somebody. You, in your life, you have done worse and besides, have you seen N1.7 million before?”, she said in the video shared. (See below for the video).
She later released a set of video recanting her earlier video and vowing that she later slept with a dog. In one of the video clips, she claimed that the negative blowback has been massive, including being ditched by her boyfriend.
Weeping profusely in the video, she urged the public to help her beg the man so he would take her back.
Apparently, the police are not impressed.
In a chat with newsmen, Olumuyiwa asked the public to help the police with information on how to apprehend the ladies involved in the “unnatural offence.”
“I really want us to take necessary action on these ladies that are involved in unnatural offences and post same online. We want to urge you to give us any useful information on how to get these babes. We need to fish them out please.”
Olumuyiwa said whether or not the ladies were joking, they must be brought in for questioning.
In a tweet shared, Adejobi pointed out that having sex with an animal is a crime in Nigeria.
