Gospel artiste, Osinachi Nwachukwu’s husband picked up for suspected culpable homicide

The husband of gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, has been arrested by the FCT police command.

Mr. Nwachukwu was arrested by men of the Lugbe police division on Sunday, April 10 after the brother of the late singer reported a case of suspected homicide to the police.

This comes amidst reports he has over the years subjected late Osinachi to severe beatings.

Confirming his arrest to LIB, the spokesperson of the FCT police command, DP Joseph Adeh says the suspect is now in police custody. She explained he was arrested on grounds of suspected culpable homicide and that investigation into the matter was ongoing.

There were various eye-witness accounts on social media of the suspect subjecting his wife to humiliating treatment, including beating, in the past. This was believed to have given the late singer severe psychological trauma.

There were also speculations that her last hospitalization was as a result of the beating the singer received from her husband. It was alleged that the singer was kicked in the chest and rushed to the hospital when her condition deteriorated, and placed on a life support machine. She died on Friday, April 8 at age 42.

However, the account of her being kicked on the chest could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.
