Former Solid Minerals Minister, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has reacted to the death of the popular gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, expressing her hope that justice would be served in the matter.
The former minister said the news of the singer hit her hard and called on churches to take the issues of violence against women seriously.
See her tweet below.
“The death of Osinachi Nwachukwu of the epic *Ekwueme* worship song really hit hard. To read allegations of spousal abuse worsens the pain.
I hope the truth is (unearthed) and justice given. Everyone, including Churches, must take issues of Violence Against Women seriously. Urgently”.
In a related development, popular actress Mary Njoku, has testified that the late singer won her soul for Christ.
In reaction to a cleric’s post that domestic violence might have been the late singer’s ‘cup of suffering for Christ’, Njoku said that nobody deserves to suffer in the name of Christ.
She said: “Na dem be this. Someone should please ask this man what is his own ‘cup of suffering’ for Christ. Where does he receive (his) portion of beating for Christ (some of us can help him).
“Where in the Bible does it say that one must be married to abuse and be beaten to death to serve Christ?
“If Christ was a God to pain, suffering and agony, abuse, wickedness, or oppression nobody would serve him.
“Pastoral calling is not for everybody, this woman won souls for Christ. So many souls, I am one of them.”
Don’t allow yourself to be killed in this country because there is no justice for wicked people.let’s wait for God justices
