‘I’ll never promote any politician’- Pastor Adeboye

Pastor E. A. Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that he has no preference among those gunning for elective offices in the 2023 elections.

He also said he did not know yet if there would even be an election next year because God had not revealed anything to him.

The octogenarian preacher spoke on Sunday morning at the monthly Thanksgiving Service of the church.

The cleric said it would be unfair for him to support a candidate or a party because there were many members of the church in all the political parties gunning for various positions.

He said he would definitely not support one against the other, adding that he would willingly pray for as many as come to him for prayer.

Pastor Adeboye said his prayer for every single one of them will be that God should implement his perfect will in the candidate’s life.

He said he was called to be a pastor and not a politician and would never be involved in partisan politics.

The RCCG G.O. said the church’s sole interest is to ensure that its members got involved in deciding who holds elective offices, pointing out that if witches could be interested in politics, Christians should also get involved in the process at all levels.

He said God spoke to him about the 2019 elections around June of the previous year and. as such, it was not too late for God to speak to him about the 2023 elections.

Pastor Adeboye said God had probably not spoken to him about the elections because he was preoccupied with other more pressing challenges besetting Nigeria.

He itemized three of the challenges as oil theft, revenue theft, Kaduna killings, and the increasing debt profile of the country, among others.
