Actress Toyin Tomato causes ruckus at Shoprite Ibadan after her daughter was manhandled for alleged shoplifting
Popular actress, Toyin ‘Tomato’ Adegbola on Saturday caused a scene at the Ibadan Shopping Mall, Ringroad, Ibadan outlet of Shoprite following the manhandling of her daughter for alleged shoplifting.
The daughter had visited the shop to buy some items and was on her way out when she was confronted by a security official who accused her of picking an item without paying for it.
The daughter, a married woman, who is not based in Nigeria, was allegedly pushed severally by an official of the retail shop, even as she protested her innocence.
It turned out that when the receipt was reviewed that the item she was accused of stealing was Number 2 on the list of the items she paid for.
She got back home to relay her experience to her mother who was on the hospital bed receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.
She yanked off the drip she was taking and headed to Shoprite to cause a scene for the undeserved embarrassment of her daughter.
Toyin Tomato who went live the moment she arrived at the shop, accused the officials of making it a habit of disgracing people without a cause.
She demanded to see the CCTV footage of the incident, especially as the official accused of disgracing the daughter denied pushing her.
