Man shares screenshot of transaction alert from forced transfer to Lagos police officers

A Nigerian Twitter user has shared a screenshot of a transaction alert from a forced transfer to some police officers in Agege, Lagos State.

@VarlenWest alleged that he was extorted of N25,000 by the police officers in three tranches of N15,000 cash and N10,000 by transfer.

From the screenshot shared, the money was sent to one Zainab Amira Salisu. The Twitter user wrote:

“I was extorted 25,000…15,000 cash and 10,000 through transfer by Agege police officers”

Responding to this, the Nigerian Police Force tweeted:

“Hello @VarlenWest, kindly reach the Nigeria Police Complaint Response Unit on any of the following numbers: +2348057000001, +2348057000002 or +2348057000003(SMS). They are on standby to resolve your complaint, please.”
