NDLEA hauls drugs equivalent to 120 bags of cement from one woman on Lagos Island (Video)
The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said its operatives stormed Lagos Island area of Lagos State on Saturday morning to arrest a female drug kingpin.
Although the agency did not disclose her name or details, it noted that she was arrested alongside five others with almost 6,000kg of drugs.
For context, that is an equivalent of 120 bags of cement.
There was chaos around Patey, Dumare, Tapa and Freeman areas of the Lagos Island earlier today when NDLEA operatives stormed the area and were engaged by thugs.
There were sporadic gunfire as the operatives tried to fend off the hoodlums, some of whom appeared to be equally armed with guns.
It was not clear if there was any loss of lives.
The agency took to Twitter to dispel some of the claims being bandied around after the raid.
“A lot of fake narratives have been going on on what happened at Petty area of Lagos Island earlier today. Please disregard them.
“Truth is our operatives went for the arrest of a major drug kingpin and we got her and 5 others with almost 6,000kg of drugs despite attacks on our men.”
