Sammie Okposo takes down apology post from his Instagram page
The apology uploaded on Instagram by Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo, in the wake of the allegations of extra-marital affairs with a United States of America-based Nigerian lady, has been taken down.
Okposo had admitted cheating on his wife in the post on Tuesday morning, 25th January 2022.
He confessed to sleeping with a lady he met in the US in November, 2021 and apologized to the wife and others.
He promised to step down from ministry until he regained full restoration.
“On my recent trip to the USA (Late 2021), I got intimately involved with a lady, knowing that this was not appropriate as a married man and a minister of the gospel. I am ashamed and regret my actions as it has caused a lot of pain to my dear wife, Ozioma, my family and I.
“As I work in making peace with God, repenting and asking for His forgiveness, I am suspending myself from all ministry work until full restoration as this is what is proper and what I know I owe God and His people,” he said in the statement.
The lady at the centre of the scandal, who is identified as African Doll, however claimed she slept with the singer many times.
She claimed he usually called her once in the US and she would go to him and they would engage in unprotected marathon sex. She further said all was well with them until she told him she was pregnant and he responded that she knew what to do about it.
Her refusal to abort the baby, according to her was the cause of their problem.
She claimed Sammie blocked her on all his social media platforms.
After the woman went public with her story, Okposo uploaded an apology.
The apology that was conspicuous on Sammie Okposo’s Instagram page on Tuesday is no longer there. It has been taken down and comments on his posts disabled.
