High hopes held by renowned ball juggler and freestyle skills pioneer, Moses Amata of making some trips to Europe have been dashed by a domestic fire outbreak that burnt his collection of entry visas.
Amata, who made a name in the 80s as Nigeria’s leading ball artiste, as he thrilled during halftime of many Super Eagles’ matches, lamented his inability to travel abroad since his international passport got burnt at his home.
He moaned that the burnt passport contained previous visas he got for trips to France for the 1998 World Cup and other key events, but all those countries now deny him entry.
He acknowledged that the denials are based on his lack of evidence about those trips, hence his inability to travel abroad ever since.
However, with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar now fast approaching, Amata has sent a passionate appeal to the sports minister, Sunday Akinlabi Dare to intervene in his matter.
He reckoned that a word of introduction or a formal letter of authority from the minister would ease things for him and help him to realise his dream of entertaining the world once again.
Amata recounted: “Since I got an inferno in my house, I lost my passport that was loaded with many visas.
“Now I want to apply for renewal of those visas and I want the minister to please help me.
“All I want is to attend the Qatar 2022 World Cup and entertain the crowd.
“I just want to do what I know how to do best. I believe the minister can help make it possible for me to get another visa to go abroad.”
