Eight children were found dead inside a parked vehicle at 18 Adelayo street, Jah Michael Bus Stop, along Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Lagos State on Saturday, December 4.
Preliminary information indicated that the children, aged four to six years old, went inside the parked Lexus SUV vehicle to play and subsequently locked themselves in.
With no adult nearby to assist them, they apparently suffocated inside the car.
The vehicle is said to be parked in front of the owner’s house.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident said that the children’s bodies had been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.
