Dowen college: ‘Abroad would be hot for them.‘- Don Davis’s mum slams parents who allegedly flew their kids abroad after they were accused of torturing a junior to death.
The woman, Deborah Okezie, who made news last year after she raised alarm over the alleged sexual assault of her son, Don Davis at the Deeper Life High School in Akwa Ibom, has weighed in on the current Dowen College scandal.
Don Davis was a boarder in Deeper Life Secondary School in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, when he was allegedly sexually molested and maltreated in the school. His mother fought the school and recently announced that the principal and other staff of the school were remanded in prison.
Speaking on the recent Dowen scandal, Mrs Okezie called for justice for Sylvester Oromoni who was allegedly tortured to death by five senior students.
She queried why the parents of the accused students would be attempting to shield their children from justice after committing a crime.
She urged the government to ensure boarding schools have well-equipped hospitals as well as Closed Circuit Television to monitor the activities of the students.
She said the news that the accused students had been flown abroad by their parents was unbelievable.
She asserted if indeed it was true, the students would never be at peace wherever they go as the spirit of the killed boy would torment them until they were brought to book.
