Veteran actor, Babatunde Omidina, better known as Baba Suwe succumbed to the complications arising from his long battle with diabetes and high blood pressure.
A relative of the late actor, believed to be his son, can be seen in a video clip lamenting the lack of support from people towards the end of the actor’s life.
“We called and called. We have no relatives,” the gentleman lamented in Yoruba beside the lifeless body of the popular actor.
“All I can say now is that my father’s soul will rest in peace” he said with tears in his eyes as he rubbed the head of his late father.
It would be recalled that Veteran Nigerian actor, Babatunde Omidina better known by his alias, Baba Suwe was flown to the United States of America for medical treatment in 2019.
When his health took the turn for the worse, he made a public appeal for financial assistance to enable him to treat his chronic diabetes. Many members of the public donated to his cause.
The vice president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo was among the many prominent Nigerians who gave him money. Prof Osinbajo gave him one million naira.
The son of the actor, Sola Omidina, later shared a video of himself and his father when they landed in the US for the much-needed treatment.
He later returned to Nigeria feeling and looking much better, only for the sickness to take a turn for the worse again recently, leading to his eventual death.
