The police command in Ogun State has confirmed the death of a 50-year-old woman who died in the house of her lover after sexual intercourse.
The police also confirmed the arrest of the lover, one Segun Taiwo, a butcher as part of investigations to establish the actual cause of her death.
According to the reports, Abimbola Olusola, the 50 year old mistress was invited by the married man on October 31, 2021 when his wife was not around.
The mistress arrived looking hale and hearty in her lover’s matrimonial home in Obada Oko area of Abeokuta.
However, around 3 am after the two had enjoyed intimacy with one another, she began to show signs of being unwell.
She got worse and finally gave up the ghost, after which the man took her body in his car to a location where he dumped her body and ran away.
The suspect was arrested following a piece of information received at Lafenwa divisional headquarters, that a woman’s corpse was seen lying on the roadside in Aro area of Abeokuta.
DPO at Lafenwa reportedly despatched his men to recover the corpse of the deceased and deposit it at the mortuary.
The case was subsequently transferred to state criminal investigation and intelligence department on the order of the commissioner of police CP Lanre Bankole for discreet investigation.
The state police command spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said CSP Femi Olabode led the homicide section there and then embarked on a technical and intelligence-based investigation to unravel the mystery behind the death of the deceased. He said the investigation eventually led them to Obada Oko area, where the suspect is living and he was arrested.
He said the suspect initially denied knowing the deceased, but when confronted with evidence, he reportedly confessed.
In his confession, he reportedly told the investigators that he had been dating the deceased since last year and that he invited her to his house on Sunday October 31st to pass the night with him, since his wife was not at home.
He stated further that he took the corpse in his car and drove it to Aro area where he dumped it because he was afraid of what would happen to him if the corpse was found in his house.
