“God spared my life” Graduate bricklayer narrates how he stepped out before Ikoyi building collapsed

A graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University who was working as a bricklayer on the 12th floor of the 21-storey Gerrard Terraces that collapsed has narrated how he narrowly escaped being buried in the rubbles.
Innocent Amos said he stepped out of his duty post, went downstairs to make a request for more plaster because they were running short.
On his way back to his duty post, he said he was near one of the pillars when he heard a ‘cracking sound’ and he quickly ran away as the 21-storey building came down in a heap, burying scores.
