Four members of staff of the University of Abuja and their children are said to have been abducted after suspected bandits attacked the University’s staff quarters in the early hours of Tuesday, November 2.
The University broke the news on its official Facebook page this morning.
”Suspected bandits attacked the staff quarters of the University in the early hours of today.
Our Safety officers, in conjunction with security personnel, mobilised to secure the quarters.
We have report that four of our staff and their children were, nevertheless, abducted by the evil men.
Efforts are being made to ensure their safe return. A sad day for us, indeed!” the statement read
Also confirming the attack, the University’s Head of Information and University Relations, Dr. Habib Yakoob, said efforts are being made to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped persons.
“Suspected bandits attacked the staff quarters of the University in the early hours of today. Our Safety officers, in conjunction with security personnel, mobilised to secure the quarters. We have report that four of our staff and their children were, nevertheless, abducted by the evil men. Efforts are being made to ensure their safe return. A sad day for us, indeed!”Yakoob said.
