Man wanted for hypnotizing lady, stealing iPhone 13 Pro Max worth N1m

A man is being sought for hypnotizing a lady and stealing an iPhone 13 Pro Max from her in Lagos.
The hapless lady identified as Joy Chinyere Nwaokocha, was sent by her boss to buy an iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at close to a million naira from Computer Village in Ikeja.
The sum of 910k was sent to her for the purpose and she promptly sent her boss a receipt and image of the phone acquired from Computer Village.
She subsequently became unreachable.
Her boss enlisted the support of the police and she was tracked down to the main gate of 1004 estate and apprehended.
She then claimed she was hypnotised by a man and dispossessed of the iPhone.
Joy, a 26-year-old graduate of FUNAAB, also stated that she handed him her phone and password and also forgot all her possessions in the man’s car amongst other claims.
Joy was detained by the police but released after her family pleaded for settlement and paid the sum of N250k to her employer with a promise to pay the balance later.
Further investigations revealed CCTV footage of the man together with Joy. It is suspected that the man is Joy’s lover and might have played a fast one on the lady.
The man in the footage was seen alighting from his Ford tinted SUV alongside Joy.
The man, who appears to be in his early 40s, was seen giving a tip to a security man who escorted him to the car.
A promise of N200,000 has been made to anyone who can help track down the man
He was reportedly last seen on October 19, 2021 around the environs of Victoria Island between the hours of 5pm and 7pm.
The statement added:
“This would hopefully clear Joy’s name as she may be innocent and bring the culprit to book.”
