A 35-year-old woman has reportedly committed suicide after she allegedly caught her husband cheating on her.
The woman has been identified as Rebecca Amoah and the incident occurred at Kasoa, a suburb of Accra on Wednesday, 20 October, 2021.
It was gathered that the mother of two had earlier complained to her husband that she was under severe trauma following her husband’s extra-marital affairs and threatened that she would kill herself if he did not change his ways.
When the woman again caught her husband cheating, she could no longer stomach it and decided to end her life. She reportedly hanged herself in the absence of her husband.
Her neighbour told newsmen that the deceased dressed the kids and took them to school. Upon her return, she then locked herself in the room and committed the act.
The neighbour said it took the intervention of a carpenter before they could break down the door of the room when they found her lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan.
The case is now being investigated by the Kasoa police station after the husband was informed of the unfortunate incident.
