Police arrests protesters at Lekki Toll Gate
Youths who dropped wreaths were told by cops to pick up their ‘garbage’
Security operatives have begun to arrest those participating in the #EndSARS commemorative rally at the Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos.
One was picked up while he was granting an interview to a battery of pressmen. His cap was yanked off his head by a policeman who grabbed him by his belt and dragged him along.
Another was picked up while displaying a placard and was thrown into a waiting Black Maria.
Two protesters who dropped wreaths at the Toll Plaza were cornered by the police as they were going and told to return to pick up their ‘garbage’.
Arise TV crew also reported that they were harassed by policemen at the Lekki Toll Gate. The crew was also told to take down their drone, which was beaming panoramic view of the protest grounds to Arise TV viewers.
