The Supreme court has affirmed the candidacy of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the Governorship candidate of APGA in the Anambra governorship election come 6th November 2021.
This comes after over two hours of fierce legal battle by lawyers on Thursday, October 14, in Abuja.
The apex court also upheld the judgement of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division delivered on August 10, which had affirmed Chief Victor Oye as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and validated the primary election that produced Soludo.
In a judgment of a five-man panel of justices of the court, the appeal filed by one Jude Okeke was dismissed on the ground of being an abuse of court process.
Justice Mary Peter Odili, who delivered the lead judgment, awarded a sum of N1 million to be paid by Jude Okeke to APGA and Victor Oye.
Recall that the Victor Oye faction of the APGA conducted the primary that produced Prof Charles Soludo, as its governorship candidate in the forthcoming November 6, election in Anambra State.
According to the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, Kano Division, was right when it quashed a Jigawa State High Court judgement that recognised a parallel primary election that was conducted by the Jude Okeke-led faction of APGA.
