A social media influencer has been arrested in Bali for indecent acts while live-streaming.
The 22-year-old from Indonesia was accused of going live on a social media app called Mango Live to carry out indecent acts for money for the last nine months.
Ketut Sukadi, Denpasar Police spokesman, said: “The profit she gained from the live job is approximately IDR30 million (US$2,104), every time she goes live she gets about IDR1.5 million (US$105).”
The woman was quickly arrested by authorities when they discovered she had been appearing naked in live streaming sessions and often masturbating, according to reports.
On an account named “Kuda Poni,” meaning pony horse, thousands of followers would tune in for the illegal live shows – many of whom could be below the age limit to use the app, according to Coconuts.
The woman has been charged with a violation of articles under the 2008 Pornography Law and the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE), which could carry a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
