Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, has spoken following an allegation by MC Morris that she abandoned him after she became successful.
MC Morris had called out Simi recently accusing her of biting the finger that fed her.
He alleged that he took Simi along for shows and even paid her debt after she mistakenly damaged something at a show. She said the singer turned her back on him as soon as she made it.
He further alleged that once when he invited her to perform at his show, she demanded for millions of naira and when she brought it to Simi’s attention, she said it was her management and there was nothing she could do about it.
Simi, in the early hours of Wednesday 15th September, 2021, took to her Instastory to insinuate that the allegations are not true.
“Seen a lot of smoke with zero fire”.
Simi posted that some people genuinely believe everything they see on the internet is either true or at least must have some truth in it. According to her, some people make up stories on social media to get attention or likes.
She advised her followers to be smart when it comes to consuming information from the internet. “And while I wish you the best, please be sharp”, she said.
“All I’m saying, use your head. Don’t let them use your head”, she added.
She then wrote a random story and said she made the story up, adding that some people would believe the story and some blogs might even publish it despite it being untrue and a figment of her imagination.
She avoided mentioning MC Morris or directly addressing the allegations he made.
