Armed bandits have attacked a branch of the Living Faith Church Worldwide at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of Kogi State, kidnapping three members.
Reports indicated that the members were in the church rehearsing at the time of the incident.
The armed men entered the church premises shooting sporadically to instill fear in the hearts of residents. They were said to have entered the church building and abducted three members of the church.
The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the development to newsmen on Monday evening through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.
Jamiu said the chairman had visited the scene in the company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division.
Jamiu said the council was working with security agents in the area to ensure that the victims were rescued unhurt.
The official reaction of the state police command is still being awaited at the time of filing this report.
