Tragedy struck in Ebonyi State on Saturday when a fully loaded 18-seater bus plunged into a river along Royal Salt by Enyigba.
It was feared that all the passengers in the bus perished.
The bus, which was filled to capacity at Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, was heading to Ikwo when it had the accident.
Local divers moved into the river to rescue the victims, but not much success had been recorded at the time the eye-witness who reported the accident left the scene, foreclosing any hope of a survivor.
“None of the passengers has been recovered. They are still inside the river. I beg the relevant agencies to come to their rescue please”, the eye witness told 9News Nigeria.
