The Hisbah Police in Kano has found its voice over the controversy generated by the wedding gown Yusuf Buhari’s fiancée, Zahra Bayero, wore to her bridal shower in Abuja on Tuesday.
The moral police condemned the dress as not being proper for a Muslim lady.
Recall that many had slammed the operatives of Hisbah for favouritism on social media when they saw the gown on Tuesday, pointing out that it was the sort of dress that Hisbah would have condemned were it to have been worn by a lesser person.
Zahra is the daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Kano and is set to marry Yusuf, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, an official of Hisbah, Sheik Harun Ibn Sina, in an interview with BBC Pidgin, said they did not regard Zahra as being above the law.
Sina criticized the wedding gown and noted that the bride-to-be ought to lead by example if she wanted blessing in her marriage.
