A groom has shot his friend on his wedding day after accusing him of having an affair with his new wife.
Authorities say, Devin Jose Jones, 30, was in the car with his bride and the friend on their way home after the wedding when they were held up in traffic.
While in traffic, Jones reportedly raised the issue of his suspicion that his friend was sleeping with his new wife, an accusation that the friend reportedly denied.
The matter escalated quickly as the two men argued and Jones reportedly got out of his vehicle and shot his friend in the leg. A second shot hit a car passing by, striking one person in the hand.
Jones’s wife was able to flag down an ambulance and get both victims to a nearby hospital.
Jones has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, according to jail records.
