The Lagos State police command has paraded several protesters arrested on Saturday in Ojota area of the state for participating in the Yoruba Nation Mega Rally.

The rally was meant to be attended by the Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Igboho, but he could not make following a raid of his residence at Soka, Ibadan, during which two of his aides were gunned down and 13 others arrested and taken to Abuja.

The rally went ahead without Igboho on Saturday, with a mammoth crowd gathering at the Ojota Park to demand the secession of Yoruba speaking states from Nigeria.

They also express open displeasure with the raid of Sunday Igboho’s house on Thursday.

The rally was disbanded by riot police using teargas and water cannons. Some of the protesters were arrested.
