How aggressive driver almost killed me, Nigerian singer YQ speaks on hospital bed in the US
Nigerian singer Yakub Jubril, better known as YQ, has narrated how he was almost killed by a reckless driver.
YQ has taken to Instagram to explain that he was hit from behind by a driver who was well above the speed limit.
The impact of the accident threw him against the steering, hurting his head and chest.
He said he lost consciousness instantly, but thanked the police and ambulance for their quick response which save his life.
He wrote:
“This aggressive driver drove way above the speed limit and hit my car from the back in a twinkle of an eye, I hit my head and chest on the steering wheel, and I was unconscious for a while, but thank God for the quick response by the paramedics.
“I’m on painkillers for some days. But am still here and hope to get back on my feet in a bit.
“Thank y’all for your concern and prayers. Am grateful.
In an earlier post, he said the ambulance and the police showed up in less than 5 minutes after the accident.
The ‘Turn It Up’ crooner started music in 2003 after he formed Q-Krest, a musical group.
His hit songs include ‘Efimile’ featuring Dagrin, the late Nigerian rapper; ‘I Like Girls’, ‘Dress Code’ and ‘Sandalili’.
He got married to his long-term partner in 2020, with whom he had been secretly engaged since 2018.
