Tiwa cursed that I’ll never have a child- Seyi narrates how their fight started
Says, 'Tiwa Savage was ready to punch me'
Singer and judge of Nigerian Idol, Seyi Shay, has explained how she came to be exchanging hot words with fellow Singer, Tiwa Savage in a salon yesterday in Lagos.
In an audio clip released by Pulse, Seyi who appeared to be talking to someone on the phone said she started the day on a bright note and went to the salon to make her hair for the Nigerian Idol show on Sunday.
She said she noticed that Tiwa was already under the dryer and she initially sat down, but later stood up to go and greet her when people were looking at the two of them somehow.
She claimed Tiwa responded well at that point and she returned to her seat after exchanging pleasantries with her.
Seyi further claimed that Tiwa stood up about 20 minutes later and came to where she sat to start talking about the wrong she (Seyi) and Victoria Kimani did her some years ago.
She said at that point she realised Tiwa was talking about the ‘Fuck You Challenge’ that she (Seyi) did in 2017. But she added that since that challenge, the two of them had interacted on several occasions and even shared a private jet and took pictures.
She said Tiwa charged at her and wanted to attack her but was restrained by the shop attendants. She said, she on the other hand tried to stay as calm as possible
Seyi also claimed that Tiwa cursed her that she would never have a child. She said that was not captured in the video of the incident that has now gone viral.
“The part I didn’t see on that whole TundeEdnut post was where she said to me: ‘Seyi, o o ni bimo. Olorun o ni fun e lomo. (Seyi, you won’t give birth. God will not give you a child), because you have a bad spirit. Mo mo po n w’omo’ (I know you are looking for a child) She said it in Yoruba.”
Seyi said that hurt her because she had had a miscarriage before and she knew the intense pain she went through.
She said for a woman to skin-shame her, shame her in other ways and then curse that God would not give her a child, it must mean that Tiwa was really full of venom for her and was out for her blood.
She claimed Tiwa once threatened a very big brand to take her off their ambassadorship.
Among many other claims, she said Tiwa also stole a song she )Seyi Shay) co-wrote, ‘Lova lova’ and when she asked for credit for the song, Tiwa rebuffed her.
It would be recalled that Seyi Shay dissed Tiwa in a rap song In 2019.
Kizz Daniel’s hit song ‘F*uck You’ started a social media challenge that saw several rappers and singers jumping on the instrumental to record their cover of the song.
Seyi Shay was among those who joined in the challenge and a controversial line that stood out in her entry was a diss at Tiwa Savage. In a portion the challenge, she sang: “You know I’m not Savage, I pay my bills.”
And then later she made a reference to a debtor’s list released by a popular nightclub owner, Duke of Spades.
The debtor’s list contained names of top celebrities who had outstanding bills at the club.
Throwing a jab at Tiwa, Seyi said: “You no go find my name for the Escape o.”
