Two hawkers lost their lives on Friday at Lotto, inbound Lagos on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway when a truck lost its brakes and rammed into them by the side of the road.
The incident occurred around 3:30pm as confirmed by Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesman of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE).
It was learnt that the driver of the truck with number plate SMK 82 XY, lost control, skidded off the road and rammed into the two female road-side hawkers, killing them on the spot.
The corpses were deposited at Idera morgue in Sagamu, while three other people who were injured were taken to Famobis Hospital in Mowe, Ogun State.
The truck and its driver have been taken to Mowe Divisional Police Station.
