A serving soldier has ended the life of an operative of the Department of State Service (DSS) in Ado Ekiti over a disagreement.
The incident occurred on Friday night at KSSD Hotel on NTA road in the state capital.
Trouble started when the soldier was trying to arrest a young man suspected to be a fraudster (Yahoo Boy) at the Hotel and the suspect saw the late DSS man, whom he knew.
The suspect was said to have appealed to the DSS man to intervene. The attempt of the DSS man to pacify the soldier to release the suspect however infuriated the soldier who brought out a knife with which he stabbed the DSS man on the neck.
The DSS man was rushed to the hospital, where he died a couple of hours later.
A reinforcement of DSS operatives arrived the hotel premises afterwards and took the killer soldier into custody before apparently handing him over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
