The late Nike and her husband

Friends of the World Bank staff who was allegedly crushed to death recently by her angry husband have taken to the social media to pay tribute to her.

MSN earlier reported that the woman and her husband had an altercation and the wife was trying to prevent the husband from going out with her phone when he ran over her with the car.

The husband named Makanjuola Ayedun from Isanlu community, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, was said to be in the habit of beating his wife, Mrs Nike Ayedun at the slightest provocation.

The incident of Friday, May 14, 2021 at their Gwagwalada, Abuja, residence put an end to the wife’s promising life.

It was learnt that due to the speed with which he reversed, the car crossed an untarred road and crashed into a building where some things were destroyed.  The woman could not be saved.

Ayedun allegedly tried to flee when he realised that he had killed his wife, blaming the incident on brake failure.

Nike was said to be the breadwinner of the family as her husband was not employed.

Tributes have continued to pour in for the late mother of two boys from family, friends and colleagues on Facebook and Twitter.

Different pictures of the late Nike were uploaded by people who all had beautiful things to say about her.

One of her friends with the handle, Sis Yemmie said: You didn’t deserve to die this way, Nike. May God Almighty send helpers to the children you left behind. Rest in Peace, Adenike.”
