The late Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru was to attend the 80th Passing out Parade of the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria before he met his untimely death.
The programme has now been cancelled by the Nigerian Army.
Attahiru was billed to be the Reviewing Officer at the PoP in Zaria yesterday Saturday, 22 May. Instead, the day was his burial.
“The COAS was to arrive in Kaduna on Friday and sleep over at his guest house. He was then expected to pay homage to the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali on Saturday before proceeding to the depot for the PoP,” a source told Daily Trust.
