Woman, teenage daughter killed in a failed rape bid in Lagos

A 49-year-old Nigerian woman, Nkechinyere Nnaama has been killed while rushing to assist her 16-year-old daughter, Ifunanya, who was being attacked by a horny man who lived in the same building with them.

The daughter was also killed by the assailant in the incident which reportedly happened on March 30th, 2021.

According to a tribute uploaded on Facebook by,  Amaka Okeagu, the mother came back home from school and found the young man who lived in the building with them rough-handling her daughter allegedly in a bid to subdue and rape her.

The woman was said to have shouted at the assailant, calling other people’s attention to what was happening. This reportedly prompted the suspect to take a hammer and hit her on the head, knocking her unconscious. The suspect reportedly did the same to the teenage girl before running away.

Nkechinyere reportedly died on the way to the hospital, while her daughter passed away a day later, March 31.

It was learnt that the suspect was later arrested by the police. He was said to have also confessed to the crime.

The victims are to be buried on Friday, June 4, 2021, in their hometown, Umuonaga village Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“Nkechi, Last month u came back from school very healthy and cheerful,, entering into your apartment, u heard your daughter who was then preparing for her SSCE exams struggling wt a young man u shared your flat with, he wanted to rape your daughter .

Immediately he heard your voice, he quickly picked hammer and hit on your head and returned same to your girl, then ran away, U died on the way to hospital while your daughter died two days ago.

You left your aged mother, your husband and your two beautiful girls. Thank God that he has confessed and I believe that God will reward him accordingly.Rest in peace my beautiful school daughter. Rest in peace Ada Agaba Police. Rest in peace beautiful Queen with a humble Heart. May you and your daughter find peace with your Creator. Amen. ”
