Three commercial motorcycle (okada) riders have lost their lives as they engaged in a violent clash with security operatives at Ogba, Lagos.
The violence started yesterday, Thursday, May 6 around Mokuolu Street in Ogba about 6pm.
Commercial motorcyclists, mostly of northern extraction, engaged men of a traffic task force who arrived the area to enforce the rule banning Okada on major roads in Lagos.
The security agents were reportedly attacked with missiles and the police reportedly shot two of them in the ensuing fracas.
While two reportedly died yesterday, the third one was said to have died this morning, prompting his colleagues to embark on a rampage, which was quelled again by the police.
