Bandits threaten to kill 17 Greenfield students if N100m ransom is not paid

The bandits who abducted 23 students of the Greenfield University in Kaduna have vowed to kill the remaining 17 students if the demanded ransom of N100 million is not paid.

The gang led by a certain Sani Idris Jalingo, kidnapped the students on April 20, 2021, and has kept them in captivity since then.

Five of the Greenfield students have so far been killed over failure of the state government to comply with their demands.

El-Rufai had vowed not to negotiate with terrorists and bandits. He equally promised to root out bandits from the state.

Reacting to the governor’s stance, Sani Idris Jalingo told the Hausa Service of the Voice of America that his group would kill the remaining 17 students if the stated ransom was not paid.

Some parents and guardians of the abducted students have been running from pillar to post to raise money for the ransom.

At least one of the parents turned to the crowd-funding platform, GoFundMe to raise some money to facilitate the return of their child in Bandit’s captivity.
