Gunmen reportedly besieged the Ibadan, Oyo State home of activist, Sunday Igboho, this morning in a bid to enter the premises.

A media aide to the activist, Olayomi Koiki, alleged in a Facebook post that the Nigerian Army attacked Sunday Igboho’s house with an intention to arrest him in the early hours of Monday 26th April 2021.

Other aides of the activist however said they were not sure of the identity of the gunmen who tried to gain entry into the premises.

In a viral video shared on Facebook, Koiki said:

”There is a situation right now where the Federal Government of Nigeria tried to invade our residence. We are telling the world that the war that the Federal Government is waiting for might start today.

“The war that the Federal Government think they are expecting from the Yoruba people; let’s tell the whole world. As I speak to you, there is an ongoing incident but we are more than capable.”

Security agents had in February this year allegedly attempted to arrest Igboho along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The attempt was foiled.

Igboho has been championing the calls for the creation of the Oduduwa nation.
