A 34-year-old groom has been poisoned to death just a week before his wedding ceremony in Owerri, Imo State.
The groom, identified as Akuma Felix Emeka, was allegedly poisoned by his ex-girlfriend, who drank the same poison and died.
The duo were said to be lovers before the man chose a different lady to marry.
The circumstances leading to their falling out are not clear.
However, on Saturday, April 3, 2021, the lady was said to have invited her ex-boyfriend, Felix for a drink.
Felix honoured the invitation and they shared a drink, which the jilted lady had laced with poison.
Their dead bodies were later found in Felix’s car with the remainder of the drink.
A source who claimed to know the jilted lady said she was actually pregnant supposedly for Felix at the time of taking the drastic action.
Felix, a graduate of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, was scheduled to get married on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
