Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesa arrested after CCTV catches him raping a minor
Popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James, better known as Baba Ijesha in Yoruba movie, has been arrested by the police after he was caught raping an under-aged girl.
A press statement issued by Lagos Police Command spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said a case of defilement was formally reported against the actor on 19th April, 2021 by one Princess Adekola Adekanya at Sabo Police Station.
The case was then transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba Lagos for proper investigation.
“Based on preliminary findings, the suspect started sexually assaulting the victim, 14 years, since she was 7 year old”, the police said in the statement.
Adejobi said the Closed Circuit Television system installed in the house of the complainant caught Baba Ijesa in the act.
The police spokesperson said Baba Ijesa confessed to the crime upon interrogation.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for proper investigation as he promised to do justice in the matter” the statement said.
