The ailing comedienne, Nmesoma Mercy Obi, better known as Ada Jesus, celebrated her birthday at the hospital on Monday, April 19, with friends and well-wishers.
MSN learnt that the celebration was put together by activist, Harrison Gwamnishu and other friends of the comedienne.
Among those who graced the celebration was Femi Fani Kayode’s estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu.
Ada Jesus, who looks much better in the pictures, has been battling a kidney disease for a long time, by her own account. The sickness significantly got worse lately, knocking her off her feet.
She recently made a video to plead for forgiveness from everyone she had hurt in her comments over the years, including the Onitsha-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, whom she once accused of staging fake miracles.
She also pleaded for the forgiveness of Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, whom she claimed was privy to the arrangement of fake miracles.
Ada Jesus was later physically carried to Prophet Odumeje’s church to beg for forgiveness from the cleric and Edochie. Both declined to forgive her at the time.
However, following severe criticism, Rita Edochie later posted a video saying she had forgiven her.
Ada Jesus’ father also took the traditional rule of Odumeje’s village to the cleric’s church to beg him, and he finally agreed to forgive her.
He also gave the family N1million for her treatment, a gesture which the comedienne’s mother did not like.
