Armed men broke into the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Mando, Kaduna State and abducted students in the school in the early hours of Friday.
The state police command’s spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Jalige confirmed the incident to newsmen. The total number of the students abducted is yet unknown.
Reports say the bandits chose only female students.
Jalige disclosed that a collaborative effort of the police and the army had been flagged off to rescue the victims.
“They were abducted last night but we have no details of the number of students and I can’t say if they are all female.
“We are currently working with the Nigerian Army to trace the kidnappers and rescue the students,” he said.
MSN learnt that the remaining students have been temporarily evacuated to the 1 Division Garrison Command of the Nigerian Army in Ribadu Cantonment.
