The immediate past boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has expressed shock at the appointment of Abdulrasheed Bawa as the new chairman of the commission.
The embattled former boss of EFCC was speaking through his lawyer, Tosin Ajaomo, on Channel TV.
Recall that President Buhari on Tuesday sent Bawa’s name to the Senate for confirmation as substantive chairman of EFCC.
Magu’s lawyer told Channels TV that the appointment was premature, considering that the allegations of corruption levelled against his client, Magu were yet to be disposed of.
“I was expecting that the issue of Magu would have been sorted out before moving to another stage.
“Unfortunately, we just got this news today that a new Chairman has been nominated by the President and his name has been forwarded to the Senate,” Ajaomo said.
