‘He held my daughter and their children at gunpoint’, – Nigerian businessman speaks on US-based Nigerian medical doctor who k!lled himself
Nigerian businessman, Francis Van-Lare has shed light on the news of the US-based Nigerian medical doctor who committed su!cide last Sunday, January 26.
The news of the demise of Dr. Ikenna Erinne in America had filled the airwaves, with the narrative that he shot himself de@d after losing a children custody battle with his estranged wife.
His friends said the man was ordered by the court to pay $15,000 monthly to his ex-wife as child support.
Having also lost his medical practice licence over the tussle and wasted lots of money on legal fees, Dr. Erinne reportedly decided to end it all.
Now, his father-in-law, Francis Van-Lare, who was previously married to relationship coach, Amara Nwosu, has alleged that the late doctor took the drastic action of ending his life to avoid going to jail for at least 25 years.
He claimed that Dr Erinne, who was married to his daughter, Suzette Chibuogu, went to her residence armed with a gun.
He claimed that Dr Ikenna Erinne, a 36-year-old cardiologist from Anambra State who was practising in the United States, held his daughter, their children, and the nanny at gunpoint for three hours.
He claimed the nanny finally managed to escape and reported to the police and Erinne decided to shoot himself de@d when the police arrived instead of facing “three counts of kidnapping with a de@dly weapon” which carries a sentence of “25 years to life on each count”.
Van-Lare made this explanation in a statement he issued after the news of Dr. Erinne went viral with many speaking about how African women were using the American system to ruin their husbands.
Ikenna and Suzzette got married in America in 2020.
