The online fallout between Afrobeats star Davido and social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has escalated into an open feud, with VDM releasing a video mocking a past viral clip of the singer.
In his latest update, VDM recreated a 2024 leaked video showing Davido on his knees allegedly begging an American model for intimacy. Filming himself on his knees and pretending to cry while displaying the viral image of the singer, VDM stated he would rather handle matters himself than beg a woman for intimacy.
The taunt comes on the heels of both personalities severing digital ties by mutually unfollowing each other on Instagram. The split followed failed mediation attempts by mutual associates, including content creator Kokopee, who claimed he stepped in to resolve a growing sense of betrayal between the former allies. Davido publicly dismissed Kokopee’s account online using a cap emoji to signify an untruth.
Addressing narratives alleging that Davido had financed his early trips to Lagos, VDM previously challenged the singer’s camp to produce receipts of any financial assistance or sponsored flights.
What began as subtle sub-tweets and private disagreements has fully spilled into public exchanges, dividing fans across social media platforms as both sides continue to trade shots.
