“If you didn’t die for me, don’t condemn me”: Pastor Jimmy Odukoya reacts to critics over second marriage
The Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC), Jimmy Odukoya, has broken his silence following mixed reactions and online backlash that greeted the announcement of his remarriage.
The actor-turned-cleric officially introduced his new wife, Pastor Mo Odukoya (formerly Mo Jasyme, daughter of Rev. Theophilus and Bolaji Daniel), to his congregation during the church’s Sunday service on November 1, 2026.
The marriage blessing took place in the United States and was officiated by Pastor Tunde Bakare of The Citadel Global Community Church.
“I have been doing this work alone”
Addressing the congregation during the service, Pastor Odukoya explained his decision to remarry after navigating his leadership role without a spouse following the end of his previous marriage to Kemi Odukoya.
“Ever since I became a pastor, I have been doing this work of life alone. The Bible said it’s not good. I was looking and searching and I found,” he stated, citing biblical precedent on companionship.
Sharp response to online critics
Despite celebration within the church, the announcement triggered heated debates across social media platforms, with commentators expressing divided opinions over his second marriage and the couple’s personal styling choices.
Dismissing the criticism, Odukoya took to his official Instagram page to address his detractors directly:
“If you cannot die for me, don’t pressure me. If you didn’t die for me, you can’t condemn me,” he wrote.
Odukoya, who assumed the position of Senior Pastor following the passing of his father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, reaffirmed that he remains focused on his ministerial duties and unbothered by public scrutiny surrounding his personal life.
