Wife cries out as prophet who claimed he could raise Toluwanisings is arrested

A TikTok cleric, Prophet Woli Arugbo Ojo, has reportedly been taken into police custody in Ibadan following public claims that he could resurrect the late gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
The arrest, which occurred on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, followed a formal petition filed by the late singer’s personal assistant.
In addition to promising to bring the singer back to life, the prophet had publicly alleged that the assistant was involved in Toluwanisings’ sudden death.
Police officers at the Ibadan Area Command subsequently invited the cleric and demanded he produce evidence to substantiate his criminal allegations.
Wife raises alarm over husband’s safety
Following his detention, the prophet’s wife released an emotional video on social media appealing to the public and authorities for assistance, stating that she has been denied access to see her husband.
She explained that she accompanied him to the police station where she initially heard him shouting inside, but was later cut off from any communication or updates regarding his condition.
Pleading with Nigerians at home and abroad, she maintained that her husband acted solely on divine instructions and urged authorities to ensure his safety while demanding clarity on his official legal status.
Escalating drama surrounding singer’s death
The incident marks the latest controversy following the death of Toluwanisings, who collapsed at his residence in Ibadan on October 14, 2026.
His passing has sparked public disputes, including disagreements between his family and widow over his burial location, as well as legal threats from gospel artists against online commentators spreading unverified theories about his death.
Oyo State police officials have not officially issued a formal public statement regarding the prophet’s detention status.
