Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has officially announced the end of her 11-year marriage to her husband, Johnson Maduabuchi.
The couple originally celebrated their traditional wedding on October 25, 2014, followed by a white wedding ceremony in June 2015.
In a statement shared online, the film star confirmed that the union has been legally dissolved by the court, marking the conclusion of a major chapter in her personal life.
Choosing peace and dignity over public debate
Addressing her fans and the media, Agwu emphasized that she would not be disclosing private details or participating in public discussions regarding the factors that led to the divorce.
She appealed to the public and press to grant her and her former spouse privacy as they navigate this transition, noting that every individual deserves the grace to move forward without judgment or public scrutiny.
Moving forward into a new chapter
Outlining her outlook on the future, the actress expressed gratitude to her supporters and reaffirmed her commitment to personal growth and emotional healing.
“Marriage is a personal journey, and not every story ends the way we once hoped,” Agwu shared in her statement. “As I begin this new chapter, I choose peace over controversy, healing over bitterness, and growth over public explanations. My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future.”
