A Nigerian man has taken to social media to recount his ordeal after spending a year and three months in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison following the mysterious death of a guest he accommodated in his residence.
In a video shared on TikTok via the handle @odoaguntan_agbaletu1, the man detailed how an act of goodwill turned into a prolonged legal nightmare.

According to the host, he offered accommodation to the deceased out of personal acquaintance, despite not knowing his parents or family background.

Unexplained circumstance: The host expressed confusion over how his guest ended up dead inside a Geepee (GT) water storage tank on the property.
Family intervention: Following the discovery of the body, the deceased’s family traveled down from Ibadan, Oyo State, and urged police officers to ensure the host was detained.
15-month detention: The man stated he served 15 months (a year and three months) in Kirikiri Prison before legal resolution allowed for his release.
“I don’t know what came into him that landed him inside a GP tank,” the host stated in the video. “I don’t know his father and mother. I only helped him because he’s my person… But I’m grateful God came through for me.”
