A newly wedded Nigerian bride has expressed deep distress online after an event decorator allegedly vanished after receiving full payment of N300,000 for her wedding venue decoration.

The bride disclosed that she contracted the vendor, operating on Instagram as EventByMuse, to handle the aesthetic setup for her wedding day.

According to financial receipts and chat records shared by the bride, she initially paid a N150,000 deposit before transferring the remaining N150,000 balance to complete the agreed fee prior to the event.

Vendor fails to appear as guests improvise venue setup

The agreement specified that the decorator would arrive at the venue early in the morning to complete the hall setup before the arrival of guests and the couple. However, the vendor failed to appear at the venue.

“I didn’t get her call. I was typing her. I was calling her. She did not come. This made my day like very very bad. Like I feel so terrible right now,” the bride stated in a viral social media video detailing her experience. “Like no decoration, no decoration at all.”

In addition to the primary contract fee, the bride alleged that the decorator collected an additional N5,000 per table for specialised arrangements.

With the vendor unreachable via phone calls and messaging platforms throughout the day, attending guests and family members were forced to step in and improvise decorations to prepare the hall for the reception.

Evidence shared online sparks public reaction

Following the event, the bride uploaded screenshots of bank transfers, transaction receipts, and direct message exchanges with the vendor to substantiate her claims.

The incident has triggered widespread reactions across social media platforms, with users voicing support for the bride, calling for legal accountability, and urging public consumer protection channels to investigate the vendor.

The vendor, EventByMuse, has not publicly addressed the allegations as of the time of reporting.
