Gospel singer Neon Adejo refutes infidelity claims involving photographer David Martins’ wife
Popular Nigerian gospel singer Neon Adejo has publicly defended his interactions with Alicia Daniella, the estranged wife of celebrity photographer David Martins, insisting his actions were purely humanitarian rather than romantic.
The controversy erupted after Martins shared private WhatsApp exchanges between Adejo and Alicia on social media, accusing the Eze Ebube crooner of inappropriate flirting and financial involvement with his wife.
Addressing the allegations, Adejo maintained that he only stepped in to offer assistance after witnessing evidence of physical abuse and severe distress during the couple’s domestic fallout.
“I only helped her in her hour of need. I never flirted with her,” Adejo stated, adding that his wife was fully aware of his efforts to assist Alicia and her young child.
Background to the domestic dispute
The public row stems from a deteriorating marital conflict between photographer David Martins and his wife, Alicia.
Alicia had previously made public allegations of domestic violence and physical abuse against Martins, claims that the photographer denied while accusing her of infidelity and unmanaged mental health struggles.
The situation escalated when Martins published screenshots of WhatsApp conversations showing Adejo transferring funds, requesting a selfie, and securing temporary accommodation for Alicia in Lekki.
Adejo clarified that the ₦150,000 transfer and Airbnb booking were intended to provide a safe haven for Alicia and her child following her domestic crisis.
He further explained that the request for a selfie was merely to see how she looked after paying for her hair appointment at a friend’s salon to lift her spirits.
Escalating counter-claims and evidence debates
Despite Adejo’s public statement and explanatory videos, the dispute has continued to draw significant attention across social media platforms.
Martins released additional screenshots, alleging inconsistencies in the timestamps of the chats Adejo presented to clear his name.
Meanwhile, Alicia reiterated her focus on seeking justice for herself and her child amid the unfolding drama.
Reflecting on the public backlash, Adejo expressed regret over the complications arising from his intervention, describing the ordeal as a painful lesson in navigating third-party domestic conflicts.
