Social activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly accused Wunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), of forging a National Identification Number (NIN) document to gain control of her deceased husband’s wealth.
In a recent video broadcast, VeryDarkMan highlighted alleged name discrepancies between Wunmi’s official identity documents.
According to the activist, Wunmi’s international passport—renewed in 2024 following Mohbad’s death—bears the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi.”
Discrepancies in official identification documents
VeryDarkMan questioned how records initially presented to him listed her NIN under the name “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi,” given that official identity management guidelines require data on an international passport to match the NIN database exactly.
He stated that a subsequent verification with identity management authorities returned her registered name as “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo,” leading him to allege that a secondary NIN document had been unlawfully generated.
Questions raised over investigation into Mohbad’s death
The activist further linked the alleged document discrepancy to ongoing questions regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, questioning the motives behind the early silence of Wunmi and the late singer’s brother, Adura.
Neither Wunmi Aloba nor her legal representatives have publicly responded to the forgery allegations raised in the video.
